How To Get There
Lorne Victoria is one of the significient towns on The Great Ocean Road. The nearest commercial airport is Avalon (for certain Jetstar flights) and Melbourne’s main airport Tullamarine.
Lorne is serviced by rail (V/Line) from Melbourne's Southern Cross station (formerly known as Spencer Street Station) to Geelong, then a connecting bus to Lorne.
Most people tour The Great Ocean Road by car. If travelling from Melbourne take the freeway to Geelong then either the Great Ocean Road (B100) via Torquay, 47 kms and 56 minutes driving, or the Princes Highway to Winchelsea and then the Deans Marsh Rd to Lorne.
An attractive alternative is to drive to Sorrento and take the ferry across to Queenscliff and then drive along the Great Ocean Road. For timetables, costs and other details of the ferry crossing, have a look at the Queenscliff-Sorrento Car & Passenger Ferry Service website.
